WATCH: 14-years-old creates a beta Video Game VS Covid-19

A 14-year-old Pinoy has created a beta game in which the player can 'fight' the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

In the game, a doctor wearing a mask is armed with a frozen alcohol gun with the virus as his target, according to a Wednesday report on Stand for Truth.

The game mirrors the challenge confronted today by frontliners in treating patients with COVID-19.

"Sa current situation, no one is taking advantage to make a game about it, to [be] the first to have that idea. So, I think that was also what inspired me to really make this game," said game developer Theo Ariel Rivas, a home-schooled Grade 9 student.

The self-taught game developer has produced a PC version and is considering making an IOS and Android version of the game.

While one game developer expert lauded Rivas for paying attention to details, another pointed out that fight against COVID-19 should not be focused on violence.

"I think 'yung fight against COVID shouldn't be done in violence. It can be just an illustration of how the body is battling it," Gwen Foster, the director of local game showcase Indie Fiesta, said.
